What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese hands on healing technique using energy to restore balance to mind, body and spirit. The word Reiki literally means Life Force Energy and the system of Reiki that we train in is called Usui Reiki, named after the founder, Mikao Usui.

How to find a good teacher
There are lots of Reiki teachers and a multitude of different courses and approaches. It is imperative that you fully research your training provider before signing up to their course and paying money.
Things to check -
1. Does your teacher have a recognised lineage back to Mikao Usui with all parties attuned in person?
(Click here for information about lineage).
2. Does your teacher offer in person classes and attunements?
(Click here for information about attunements)
3. Is your teacher a member of a recognised professional body?
4. Has your teacher been practising Reiki professionally for at least 2 years?
You should also arrange to have a Reiki session with your chosen teacher before the training commences. This serves to allow you to meet him or her and to ensure that you are both a good fit for each other. It also allows you to experience how they carry out a Reiki session and you can use the opportunity to ask questions about the training.
Our teachers both have traceable lineages and are registered with professional bodies. Debi is also professionally verified by the Reiki Council and her courses are accredited by the IPHM.
